Software Engineer

Our client is building a next-generation financial services platform, combining premium banking, rewards, and account services in one ecosystem. They're operating at serious scale ($150M+ ARR, $4B+ annual transaction volume) and remain fully profitable, with the growth trajectory of a company still early in its story.
This is a chance to join a small team of at a genuine inflection point, owning the backend systems (payments, rewards, account services, and partner integrations) that power a fast-growing, high-value customer base.
What you'll do
Design and build backend services, APIs, and data models handling high-volume, high-stakes financial transactions
Own full features end-to-end, from concept to launch and beyond, across payments, rewards, account services, and partner integrations
Build systems where correctness matters, keeping money and data accurate through concurrency, retries, and failures
Shape technical architecture as the platform scales
Partner with frontend and mobile engineers on polished, full-stack features
Raise the bar on reliability, performance, and observability across backend systems
What you bring
5+ years building backend or full-stack systems in production
Strong experience with Python as a primary backend language
Skill designing APIs, data models, and services on PostgreSQL and AWS
A track record of owning significant systems end-to-end
Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Nice to have
Comfort in distributed, high-availability production environments
Experience with Django and TypeScript/React
Background in fintech, payments, banking, or rewards
Startup or small-team experience
A personal interest in credit cards, points, or travel
A competitive $300k base + equity.
