Project Responsibilities:
- Design and evolve scalable distributed systems in Go with appropriate concurrency models.
- Translate high-level business goals into technical plans, architecture, and delivery roadmaps.
- Identify edge cases, risks, and technical constraints early.
- Represent engineering in external stakeholder meetings and explain trade-offs in business terms.
- Lead code and architecture reviews for senior engineers.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines and engineering processes.
- Produce clear ADRs, technical specifications, and architecture diagrams.
- Balance hands-on coding with architectural oversight and team mentoring.
Candidate Portrait:
Senior Go engineer who has grown into an architectural role and can independently our client's complex system design. The person should remain hands-on, guide several development teams, make and justify architectural trade-offs, and communicate decisions clearly to technical and business stakeholders.
Must-have
- 7+ years of software development and 4-5+ years of production Go.
- Deep knowledge of goroutines, channels, context, memory model, and concurrency patterns.
- Higher education in Computer Science or software development.
- Extensive experience implementing or configuring AI within engineering teams.
- FinTech, banking, or another regulated or high-compliance domain.
- Distributed, microservice-based, and/or high-load system design.
- REST and/or gRPC API design, including versioning and backward compatibility.
- Relational database schema design, transactions, and query optimization.
- Message brokers and event-driven architecture.
- Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and modern DevOps practices.
- Scalability, fault tolerance, security, metrics, logging, and tracing.
- Architecture reviews, ADRs, technical specifications, and stakeholder communication.
- Readiness to work 09:00-18:00 CEST.
- Readiness for a live Go coding task during the client interview.

Nice-to-have:
- NoSQL or caching technologies such as MongoDB, Cassandra, ClickHouse, or Redis.
- AWS, GCP, or Azure and cloud-native architecture.
- DDD, SRE practices, AI/LLM production integrations, and open-source Go contributions.
- Formal Architect, Staff Engineer, or Principal Engineer experience.
- Java, Python, or C++ for cross-team collaboration.
