Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role located in the Pune/Pimpri-Chinchwad area for a Sr Manager Production. The Sr Manager Production leads day-to-day plant operations, including planning and overseeing production schedules, managing teams on the shop floor, and ensuring that output meets quality, cost, and delivery targets. The role involves monitoring performance metrics, resolving production issues, coordinating with maintenance, quality, supply chain, and engineering to minimize downtime, and implementing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. This position is also responsible for resource allocation, workforce development, adherence to safety and environmental standards, and effective communication with senior leadership on production performance and improvement plans.
Qualifications
Strong production management skills, including experience with capacity planning, line balancing, and meeting daily output and delivery commitments.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, 5S), and problem-solving tools such as root cause analysis.
Background in automotive or component manufacturing, with familiarity in quality systems, process control, and customer-specific requirements.
Proficiency in using production-related software or ERP systems, and comfort with data-driven decision-making and performance reporting.
Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team management, coaching, conflict resolution, and cross-functional collaboration.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with shop-floor teams, peers, and senior management.
Understanding of occupational health and safety, environmental regulations, and compliance requirements within a manufacturing setting.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Industrial, Production Engineering, or a related discipline; an advanced management qualification is an advantage.
Prior experience in a senior production or operations management role in the automotive sector, preferably in high-volume or precision component manufacturing.
