Position: Web Research Task Author
Type: Short-Term Contract
Compensation: USD 10/hour
Location: Remote
Duration: 6 weeks
Commitment: 40 hours/week with 4 hours of PST overlap

Role Responsibilities
Create rigorous web research tasks for evaluating advanced AI systems.
Conduct deep research using multiple independent and reliable sources.
Extract exact supporting quotes and identify definitive answers.
Document plausible alternative answers and explain why they are less suitable.
Design research questions requiring multiple clues, sources, and reasoning steps.
Evaluate primary and secondary sources and distinguish reliable information from unsupported claims.
Work with archives, catalogues, databases, institutional records, PDFs, scans, and other public sources.
Requirements
At least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
Experience in journalism, fact-checking, library or archival research, genealogy, due diligence, graduate-level primary-source research, or citation-heavy editing.
Expertise in at least one domain, such as history, science and technology, sports, music, politics, geography, film, or television.
Advanced web research and source-verification skills.
Strong ability to assess the reliability of primary and secondary sources.
Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources into a definitive, well-supported answer.
Preferred Qualifications
OSINT, cataloguing, or archival experience.
Experience creating benchmarks, exams, quizzes, puzzles, or research-based evaluation content.
Experience designing questions that require multiple clues or sources.
