Senior Software Engineer

We're looking for a senior software engineer (SDE3/SDE2) to join our engineering team and drive the development of key platform components. This is a highly hands-on technical role where you will design systems, write production code, review pull requests, and set the bar for engineering quality. You will work closely with the founders, product, and design teams to solve complex problems in procurement workflows and build scalable systems. As a senior engineer, you will take ownership of technical decisions, mentor other engineers, and help establish strong engineering practices. We leverage AI across engineering workflows from coding and reviews to test generation and debugging, and we expect engineers to rethink traditional development approaches and help establish new standards for speed and quality in an AI-assisted development environment.
Responsibilities:
Design and build scalable backend and platform systems.
Write high-quality production code for critical product components.
Participate actively in code reviews and maintain high engineering standards.
Drive technical decision-making around architecture and system design.
Collaborate with product and design teams to scope and deliver features.
Mentor junior engineers through technical guidance and pairing.
Contribute to improving engineering processes, testing practices, and code quality.
Help adopt and optimise AI-assisted development workflows.
Requirements:
3-8 years of software engineering experience.
Strong backend engineering and system design experience.
Proven ability to own and deliver complex technical projects.
Strong coding skills and attention to code quality and maintainability.
Experience mentoring engineers and participating in technical leadership.
Comfortable working in fast-paced startup environments.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to Have:
Experience with TypeScript, React, Node.js, or similar modern stacks.
Background in B2B SaaS or enterprise software.
Experience in high-growth startups.
Full-stack development experience.
