Senior Camunda Workflow Support Engineer (Java)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Camunda Workflow Support Engineer to support and maintain multiple Camunda-based workflow systems that drive critical logistics and operational business processes. The environment consists of approximately 130 workflow processes distributed across multiple Camunda instances, with implementations in Java and PHP.
This role is primarily focused on production support, workflow monitoring, incident investigation and resolution, and process maintenance, rather than new feature development. The ideal candidate should possess strong hands-on experience in Camunda BPM, BPMN workflows, production support, workflow troubleshooting, Java code analysis, SQL investigation, REST API integrations, and incident management. The engineer will collaborate closely with business stakeholders and external service providers to analyze, optimize, and maintain business workflows while ensuring high system availability and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and support multiple Camunda-based workflow applications running in production.
Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents involving failed or stuck workflow instances.
Investigate workflow failures caused by application restarts, unavailable dependent services, integration issues, and timeout scenarios.
Restart failed jobs and workflow instances, perform data corrections, and ensure successful workflow recovery.
Monitor scheduled jobs using Rundeck and restart or recover failed jobs as required.
Investigate workflow behavior using Camunda Cockpit, application logs, SQL queries, Java/PHP code, and monitoring tools.
Troubleshoot REST API integration issues and ensure reliable communication between dependent systems.
Collaborate with business stakeholders and external partners to analyze, revise, and improve existing BPMN workflow processes.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for production incidents and implement preventive measures.
Maintain workflow reliability, system stability, and operational performance across multiple Camunda environments.
Document incidents, resolutions, operational procedures, and process improvements.
Requirements:
Experience: 10 Years.
Experience with Camunda incident recovery, process variables, message correlation, timer events, and retry mechanisms.
Knowledge of Java and PHP-based workflow implementations.
Familiarity with Linux environments and production monitoring tools.
Experience working in Agile development and support environments.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
