Senior Java Architect

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Java Architect / Solution Architect who will be responsible for end-to-end system design, architectural decision-making, and technical leadership across complex enterprise solutions. The ideal candidate must bring prior Solution Architect experience, deep expertise in distributed and event-driven systems, and hands-on capability in designing scalable, cloud-native architectures rather than only implementing predefined designs.
Responsibilities:
Act as a Solution Architect, owning the end-to-end technical architecture of enterprise applications.
Design, define, and govern scalable, secure, and high-performance systems aligned with target architecture and business goals.
Lead system design discussions, architecture reviews, and technical decision-making.
Ensure solutions align with microservices, event-driven, and distributed architecture principles.
Drive architecture through customer engagements, solution presentations, and technical discussions.
Provide strong technical leadership to development teams, guiding design patterns, best practices, and implementation approaches.
Collaborate with product, engineering, DevOps, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust architectural solutions.
Evaluate and adopt the latest technologies, frameworks, and architectural patterns relevant to business needs.
Support performance optimisation, scalability planning, resilience, and fault tolerance strategies.
The core requirements for the job include the following:
Architectural and System Design:
Prior experience as a Solution Architect in the current or previous organisation is mandatory.
Proven experience in designing and building systems from scratch, not just implementing existing designs.
Strong expertise in system design, architectural patterns, and enterprise application architecture.
Deep understanding of microservices, event-driven systems, and distributed architectures.
Java and Backend Technologies:
Extensive hands-on experience with Java / J2EE in cloud-native microservices architectures.
Strong knowledge of Core Java, Collections Framework, Multithreading, and Exception Handling.
Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring JDBC, Spring Data JPA, and RESTful Web Services.
Proficiency in JSON, XML, and API design standards.
Messaging and Integration:
Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience with messaging technologies such as Apache Kafka, Google Pub/Sub, and ActiveMQ.
Experience designing event-driven architectures and asynchronous communication models.
Cloud and DevOps:
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Experience in cloud-native application development using CI/CD and DevOps practices.
Familiarity with Docker, containerised deployments, and cloud infrastructure concepts.
Data and Performance:
Strong exposure to SQL and NoSQL databases.
Experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling.
Expertise in performance tuning, query optimisation, and data model enhancements.
Knowledge of caching strategies and mechanisms.
Quality and Process:
Experience with unit testing (JUnit or similar frameworks).
Strong exposure to code reviews, logging, monitoring, and alerting practices.
Hands-on experience working in Agile / Scrum environments.
Proficiency with Git, Maven, and Nexus.
Soft Skills and Competencies:

Proven experience in client handling, requirement gathering, and solution articulation.
