Our client needs a hands-on data engineer who can design robust databases, build reliable pipelines, and integrate messy real-world data from ERP systems, CRMs, and accounting tools into clean, unified platforms. You'll work closely with finance consultants to structure financial data and improve reporting efficiency across client engagements.
This role offers deep technical work combining database design, Python automation, and data integration in a fast-paced environment where your pipelines directly support business decision-making through Power BI dashboards and custom reporting tools.
What you will do as a Data & Automation Engineer...
Database Design: Design and maintain relational databases (PostgreSQL) for internal reporting and client projects
Pipeline Development: Build and operate ETL/ELT pipelines in Python to ingest data from diverse sources - APIs, SFTP, cloud exports, and third-party systems
Data Integration: Connect and integrate multiple data sources into unified data platforms (e.g., ERP systems, CRMs, accounting tools)
SQL Optimization: Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data transformation and reporting use cases
Dashboard Support: Support dashboard backends for Power BI and custom reporting tools
Finance Collaboration: Work closely with finance consultants to structure financial data and improve reporting efficiency
What we are looking for…
Database Development: 10+ years of hands-on experience in SQL database development (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar) including schema design, indexing, and query optimization
Python Engineering: Strong Python skills for data engineering — building pipelines, API integrations, and automation workflows
Data Ingestion: Hands-on experience ingesting data from diverse sources: REST APIs, databases, and cloud platforms
Infrastructure Comfort: Comfortable working with command line, Linux environments, and containerized workflows (Docker)
Data Wrangling: Ability to structure and clean messy financial or operational data from heterogeneous sources
Development Practices: Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
Language: Fluent English - written and spoken
Work Style: Independent, quality-driven approach with hands-on mentality
Desirable (but not required):
Familiarity with Power BI for reporting and dashboard development
