Insurance Claims Adjuster

AMEX Assurance Co. (AAC) provides insurance protection for American Express Card Members through implicit card benefits, and fee/add-on insurance products to both Card Members and non-Card Members. This role provides an exciting opportunity to handle claims for the embedded NAC benefits and for fee products in the AMEX Assurance Co. Insurance portfolio. This position will also be responsible for training development, implementation and delivery to new hires as part of the onboarding process and ongoing colleague training for skill uplifts, refreshers and reinforcement.
Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
1 year of Insurance or Customer Service industry experience
A current Claims Adjuster License is a plus
If a license is not currently held, the applicant must be able to obtain the necessary license during the time frame allowed prior to training. Upon hiring, candidate will have 3 attempts to pass the Arizona Licensing exam. If the exam to obtain your license cannot be passed, within 3 attempts, employment will be terminated.
Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
Your duties may include but are not limited to:
Investigation of policy and product information by using tools available.
Maintaining state compliance for reporting, Medicare, insurance claims and audit functions relative to the AAC claims team related to claims adjudication.
Decision making of claims for AAC Embedded NAC and Fee based products, as well as direct phone interaction with the customer and/or vendors to ensure timely decisions and claim progression.
Researching claims for proper disposition which may include communication via phone and/or written correspondence with customers, business and others.
Adjudication of claims relative to all state and local laws and compliance as well as internal processes and procedures.
Development and maintenance of department training for claims colleagues in partnership with leaders and other business areas.
Delivery of training materials to individuals and groups of colleagues related to claims process, investigation, adjudication and decisioning.
Ongoing maintenance and monitoring of the training materials for the AAC Claims team.
Providing insights to leaders on training needs and trends for trainees learning and development.
This position is based in Phoenix, AZ and the ideal candidate will work a minimum of 3 days onsite / 2 days remotely. The ideal candidate will work a flexible schedule between the hours of operation: Monday - Friday - 8:00am - 5:00pm EST, and may be asked to work rotational weekends.
