ROLE
The Software Quality Assurance Engineer is a full-time remote role responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of software products delivered to clients. Day-to-day activities include designing and executing manual test plans and test cases, identifying and documenting defects, and collaborating with software developers to resolve issues and improve overall quality. The role involves participating in requirements reviews, validating new features against specifications, and contributing to release readiness through regression testing and quality reporting. The engineer will also help refine quality standards, propose process improvements, and support continuous integration and delivery pipelines to maintain high-quality releases across AI-driven and cloud-based solutions.
REQUIREMENTS
1–2 years of QA experience on a web application (internships and contract work count).
Solid grasp of manual testing fundamentals: test case design, boundary and negative testing, role and permission testing, regression strategy.
Python at a working level: you can read an existing codebase and add to it without hand-holding.
Practical experience with a UI automation framework (Playwright, Selenium or Cypress), including locator strategies and wait handling.
Comfortable in browser devtools: network tab, console, inspecting the DOM to find a stable selector.
Basic API testing (Postman or equivalent) and the ability to read a JSON response and a status code.
Experience testing ETL / data pipelines: validating extraction, transformation and load stages, reconciling source and destination data, and catching silent data loss.
Git fundamentals: branch, commit, open a pull request, resolve a simple conflict.
Experience with a bug tracker (Jira preferred) and working inside a sprint.
Clear written English. Half of this job is describing a problem precisely enough that someone else can fix it.
NICE TO HAVE
Testing AI or LLM-powered features, or any exposure to prompt evaluation and non-deterministic output validation.
async/await Python, or experience with async test frameworks.
CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions): reading workflow logs and test artifacts.
SQL for verifying data behind the UI.
Performance or load testing (k6, JMeter, Locust).
Prior work in legal tech, insurance, healthcare or another document-heavy regulated domain.
Security testing basics: auth boundaries, role escalation, input validation.
