Role Description The Special Education Teacher will provide individualized and small-group instruction to learners with diverse needs in the middle school grades, ensuring access to the curriculum and alignment with school standards. Responsibilities include developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), adapting teaching strategies and materials, and using assessment data to monitor progress and adjust instruction. The teacher will collaborate closely with general education teachers, counselors, and families to create inclusive classroom practices and supportive transition plans. Daily tasks involve classroom management, documentation of student performance, communication with caregivers, and participation in school-wide initiatives and professional development. Strong knowledge of Special Education and experience supporting learners with diverse disabilities.
Demonstrated Teaching experience, preferably in Middle School settings.
Excellent Communication skills for collaboration with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or Education; advanced certification or training in Special Education is an advantage.
Understanding of inclusive education practices, differentiated instruction, and behavior support strategies.
Ability to maintain accurate records, develop IEPs, and use data to inform instruction.
Comfort working in a multicultural environment and promoting empathy, resilience, and open-mindedness among learners.
Prior experience in CBSE, IB, or similar curricula, and familiarity with assistive technologies, is beneficial.
