Role Summary
Lauren Services is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer with 7+ years of experience in an EPC, EPCM, or engineering consulting environment supporting oil and gas midstream, pipeline, and industrial facility projects. This role is suited to a technically capable, up-and-coming designer who is ready to take greater ownership of electrical and controls deliverables while continuing to strengthen their technical judgment and multidisciplinary coordination skills. The successful candidate will support multiple concurrent brownfield projects, including facility modifications, compressor and pump station upgrades, meter station expansions, power distribution improvements, equipment replacements, and other small capital work. This is a hands-on design position requiring practical experience in both electrical power and controls systems, strong detail design capabilities, and the ability to progress assigned work with limited supervision in a fast-paced project environment.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity for a senior designer who is ready to expand their technical ownership and contribute beyond task-based drafting. You will work across a varied portfolio of brownfield projects, collaborate directly with experienced technical professionals, and take responsibility for design deliverables from early development through field execution.
The role offers exposure to both electrical power and controls design, along with opportunities to strengthen your technical judgment, multidisciplinary coordination, and project execution capabilities. You will have the support needed to continue developing while being trusted to take meaningful ownership of your work
Responsibilities
Ability to take ownership and accountability for EIC drawing packages, apply strong technical understanding and constructability considerations, and maintain a high level of overall package quality.
Complete Design and Drafting for Electrical and Control packages, including, but not limited to, single line diagrams, schematics, cable tray layouts, lighting and grounding, power layouts, equipment lists, wiring diagrams, 3D modeling, Control panel layout, and I/O loop drawings.
Knowledge of P&IDs for industrial projects.
Design calculations which include voltage drop, lighting levels, cable tray fill, and heat trace wattage.
Establish good working relationships and communicate with leads, department managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines to coordinate, ensuring the compatibility of design.
Qualifications
Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 7 years' experience in electrical AND control design for oil & gas or similar process industries.
Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and how to apply it in designs.
Proven expertise using AutoCAD and 3D design / drafting
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Team player, but also able to work independently and take responsibility.
Able to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks in a highly scheduled environment.
Skills & Attributes

Experience with interface points, including PLC/DCS panels, marshaling cabinets, and control cabinets
