Role Description The Freelance Video Editor role is a part-time, remote position focused on producing high-quality video content for marketing campaigns, brand stories, and social media. On a day-to-day basis, the Video Editor will work with raw footage, assemble rough cuts, refine edits, and ensure smooth transitions, pacing, and narrative flow aligned with project objectives and brand guidelines. Responsibilities include color grading, audio adjustments, adding motion graphics and text overlays, and optimizing videos for different platforms and aspect ratios. The role involves collaborating with the creative and marketing teams, interpreting briefs, contributing ideas for visual storytelling, and meeting agreed timelines and quality standards. The Video Editor will also maintain organized project files, follow naming conventions, and stay up to date with current video trends and best practices.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Video Editing and Video Production for digital marketing and social media content.
Candidates should possess skills in Video Color Grading to ensure consistent, professional visual quality across projects.
Candidates should possess skills in Motion Graphics and Graphics to create engaging titles, overlays, and visual elements.
Proficiency with industry-standard editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve) and basic audio editing is beneficial.
Ability to interpret creative briefs, manage multiple projects, and deliver within deadlines in a remote, freelance environment is required.
Strong attention to detail, visual storytelling ability, and familiarity with platform-specific formats (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) are advantageous.
Previous experience in digital marketing, advertising, or agency environments and a portfolio showcasing relevant video work is highly beneficial.
