Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to design and guide scalable, secure, enterprise-grade solutions across multiple applications and product streams.
The ideal candidate is a well-rounded architect with significant recent Solution/Application Architecture experience, strong software engineering foundations, and the ability to operate effectively between business, architecture, and engineering.
This role requires someone who can understand business requirements and constraints, formulate end-to-end solution architectures, evaluate alternatives and trade-offs, clearly communicate architectural decisions, and work with engineering teams throughout delivery.
This is a delivery-focused Solution Architecture role rather than a pure enterprise-governance position. Architectural maturity and breadth are more important than expertise in any specific programming language or framework.
Key Responsibilities
Own and design end-to-end solution architectures for complex, cloud-based, distributed, and integration-heavy systems.
Gather and understand business and technical requirements, constraints, and objectives and translate them into effective solution architectures.
Evaluate architectural alternatives and clearly articulate decisions, rationale, risks, and trade-offs.
Guide multiple applications and product streams while maintaining architectural consistency.
Design and document APIs, integrations, data flows, and interactions between internal and external systems.
Produce and communicate clear architecture diagrams and models covering application, integration, data, and infrastructure concerns.
Present architecture effectively to audiences ranging from developers and Engineering Managers to business stakeholders and executives.
Collaborate with development teams to ensure architectural designs are understood and successfully translated into implementation.
Address non-functional requirements including scalability, performance, security, reliability, availability, and cost optimization.
Provide architectural guidance throughout delivery without unnecessarily defaulting into implementation-level decisions.
Evaluate emerging technologies and determine their appropriate application within existing enterprise environments.
Required Experience & Qualifications
10+ years of overall technology experience, with strong software engineering foundations.
5+ years of meaningful recent experience in Solution Architecture and/or Application Architecture.
Proven ownership of architecture for complex, enterprise-scale applications and systems.
Demonstrated experience taking solutions through the lifecycle from requirements → architecture/design → stakeholder alignment → engineering delivery.
Broad architectural experience across application architecture, integration and APIs, cloud architecture, distributed systems, data flows/platform integration, security and identity, and performance/scalability/availability.
Strong understanding of modern software engineering principles and the practical implications of architectural decisions.
Experience working across multiple applications, products, or streams simultaneously.
Architecture & Technical Capabilities
Candidates should have strong architectural knowledge of modern enterprise technology environments. Expertise in one specific programming language is not required.
Cloud platforms, particularly Azure or comparable hyperscale environments
Microservices and distributed architectures
API and integration architecture
Event-driven systems
Cloud-native applications and containerized environments
Data-platform and data-lake integration
Authentication, authorization, security, privacy, and compliance
CI/CD, DevOps, and deployment architecture
High-availability and high-performance systems
Modern and legacy application environments
Current environment: Azure, .NET/C#, Angular, React/Next.js, Python, SQL, Snowflake, APIs/integration services, event-driven components, containerized workloads, and AI-enabled solutions. This stack is provided as context and should not be treated as a hard candidate checklist.
Important: Candidates should not be screened out solely because they lack experience with a particular language or framework. Understanding how technologies interact within an architecture is more important than code-level expertise in a specific stack.
Business & Stakeholder Capabilities
Strong ability to understand business problems, motivations, requirements, and constraints before proposing technical solutions.
Ability to formulate architectures while considering business requirements, existing constraints, engineering realities, and emerging technologies.
Strong architectural decision-making and the ability to explain why a particular approach was selected.
Ability to communicate trade-offs among scalability, performance, security, cost, maintainability, reliability, and delivery.
Comfortable engaging with business stakeholders, Product Owners, Engineering Managers, developers, and executive-level audiences.
Able to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical decision-makers without losing the architectural rationale.
Communication Requirements
Excellent professional English communication skills are required.
Must be able to articulate complex ideas clearly, concisely, and confidently.
Strong presentation and stakeholder-management capability.
Able to present architecture diagrams and explain the underlying requirements, decisions, trade-offs, technology choices, and solution flows.
Comfortable responding to open-ended architectural questions and defending design decisions.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Experience
Experience with ArchiMate or comparable architecture modeling frameworks.
Experience within large-scale enterprise environments.
Experience designing high-volume and/or high-availability systems.
Financial services, banking, tax, or other highly regulated industry experience.
Knowledge of data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks; deep product expertise is not required.
Exposure to AI-enabled solutions/agents and their integration into broader application architectures.
