About The Role
The Product Costing Specialist conducts inventory analysis and delivers actionable insights to help business units mitigate significant product-cost impacts. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the role performs monthly inventory valuation and variance analysis, supports annual operating-plan activities, calculates inventory provisions, contributes to M&A and divestiture projects, participates in global communities, and implements continuous process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
Perform monthly inventory valuation at standard cost and actual cost in accordance with the month-end closing schedule.
Analyze monthly variances involving actual cost, standard cost, and production orders.
Support the definition and maintenance of the annual operating plan, including fixed production costs and variable rates.
Calculate and record provisions for slow-moving inventory, net realizable value, and/or replacement price in accordance with the closing schedule and GAIN methodology.
Communicate process deliverables and ensure stakeholders remain informed of progress, issues, and resolutions.
Participate in merger, acquisition, and divestiture projects involving business lines or companies, ensuring the correct accounting and integration of inventories.
Participate in global communities by supporting the subject-area lead and/or area expert.
Implement continuous process-improvement solutions through new technologies and systems while actively supporting the horizontal team.
Education And Experience
Education: Professional qualification in Finance (e.g. B com, CA, CMA, etc.)
Work Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting, finance, product costing, inventory accounting, or a related field.
Process Knowledge: Strong understanding of inventory valuation, standard and actual costing, production-order variances, inventory provisions, annual operating plans, and month-end activities.
Decision-Making: The role operates with a high degree of autonomy and makes timely decisions without immediate consultation when appropriate.
Core Skills: Strong analytical capability, customer focus, problem-solving, organization, prioritization, proactivity, autonomy, attention to detail, and effective communication.
Technical Skills
Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Advanced Excel skills are required.
Working knowledge of SAP is required.
Fluent English is required
Strong knowledge of product costing, inventory accounting, financial controls, and month-end closing processes.
Experience with the GAIN methodology or comparable inventory-provision processes is an advantage.
Experience with continuous improvement, automation, or new technologies is preferred.
Experience in a shared services, multinational, or GCC environment is preferred.
