Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Tool Coordinator to support the construction and installation of utility-scale wind energy projects. This is a highly site-based position responsible for ensuring tools, equipment, and materials are properly received, tracked, maintained, distributed, and returned throughout the project lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will bring experience supporting wind or utility-scale renewable energy construction projects, along with a strong background in SAP/ERP systems, tooling, inventory control, materials coordination, and site logistics.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day tooling, materials, and inventory activities supporting wind construction projects.
Coordinate receiving, shipping, storage, distribution, tracking, and return of tools, equipment, containers, and shipping fixtures.
Perform physical inventory counts, cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution.
Maintain accurate physical and electronic inventory records, including tool identification and serial-number tracking.
Complete inventory and materials transactions within SAP/ERP systems, including goods receiving and related documentation.
Create and monitor purchase orders and purchase requests for tooling and site requirements.
Track tool shortages, lost or damaged equipment, returns, and overall tool availability.
Coordinate closely with Construction Managers, Project Managers, Lead Technicians, and field personnel to ensure required tools and materials are available when needed.
Perform and document tooling inspections using project management systems such as Procore.
Support site setup, installation, mechanical completion, commissioning, and project close-out activities.
Coordinate the return of tools, containers, fixtures, and other project equipment to designated warehouses or facilities.
Maintain accurate site documentation, tracking reports, and administrative records.
Support project safety requirements, participate in site safety activities, identify potential hazards, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Follow established work instructions and procedures while proactively resolving inventory, tooling, and logistics issues.
Qualifications
3+ years of relevant experience in tooling, materials, inventory, logistics, warehouse, or field/site coordination.
Previous experience supporting wind energy or utility-scale renewable energy projects is strongly preferred.
Hands-on experience with SAP or a comparable ERP system.
Strong knowledge of inventory control, materials management, receiving/shipping, cycle counts, reconciliation, and logistics.
Experience working on active construction or project sites strongly preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Procore or similar construction/project management system experience is beneficial.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate inventory and documentation.
Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with field technicians, construction management, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
Ability to work independently in remote project environments with limited supervision.
Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify discrepancies and determine root causes.
Valid driver's license required.
High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Travel & Work Environment
Approximately 90% travel to wind farm construction sites.
Must be comfortable working at remote project locations and transitioning between projects as needed.
Work may be performed outdoors in varying or extreme temperatures.
Must be able to lift approximately 25 lbs. and push/pull up to 50 lbs.
Passport and ability to support international travel are beneficial.
