Contracts Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY
This role will be involved with activities required for developing and maintaining contracts for various products and services from the initial stages of the contract process through product/service delivery and then final closeout. This successful candidate will have thorough knowledge of all contract types and will enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced environment that allows you to think outside of the box for solutions while staying in the guidelines of policies and procedures.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities outlined below include essential functions of the role. Depending on business needs, this role may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties.
·Contract Administration
Review, assess risk, and negotiate all terms and conditions for new contracts and associated agreements as well as for modifications of existing contracts/agreements.
Monitor existing contracts to ensure continual compliance with FAR, DFARS and other regulatory requirements. Analyze new rules and laws to assess their possible influence on the company. Perform an annual audit of applicable FAR/DFARS to ensure compliance.
Collaborate with the accounting department to ensure accurate billing and collection of contractual income.
Maintain the contract management system computer database to ensure it is current.
Track and coordination the submission of all contract deliverables to the customer.
Identify potential contract changes/issues and assess the impacts on the business.
Coordinate with the internal program team and the customer to ensure timely contract change management.
Advise business and technical staff of contractual rights and obligations and provide interpretation of complex terms and conditions.
Government Property Management Liaison
Coordinate with Government Property Manager and Project Managers to complete inventory reporting and submit to government officials per contract specifications.
Contract Closeout
o Responsible for closeout of contracts to include subcontractor agreements, intellectual property reporting, government property disposition and certification, and final invoicing.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (or related field) and minimum five years prior experience with Government Contracting
knowledge of and experience with Contract Terms and Conditions, to include FAR and DFARS
Team Player with good interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently when needed
Strong organizational and time management skills
Strong facilitation, communication, and presentation skills
Word processing skills, especially with Microsoft Office products and desktop software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Must have the ability to prioritized work in a dynamic environment
Knowledge of Cost Plus, T&M and FFP contract vehicles
Able to effectively share information with technical and non-technical staff
Good collaboration skills, able to work in a team environment where engagement and participation are an expected part of successful job performance
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance; an active U.S. security clearance is preferred.
TRAVEL
Up to 10% local travel may be required.
