AWS Solutions Architect

Location: LATAM, EST working hours
NTT DATA is seeking a hands-on Senior AWS Solutions Architect to design and deliver secure, scalable cloud-native solutions for customer-facing digital applications. This role combines architecture, engineering, and production support within cross-functional Agile teams.
Responsibilities:
Design resilient, secure, cost-effective AWS architectures for customer-facing and support applications.
Build proofs of concept, reference implementations, foundational components, integrations, and Infrastructure as Code.
Deliver serverless, microservices, API, and event-driven solutions using Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, and Step Functions.
Define API contracts and synchronous, asynchronous, publish/subscribe, and queue-based integration patterns.
Review code and designs, guide engineering teams, troubleshoot complex issues, and support production incidents.
Implement IAM, encryption, secrets management, secure networking, CI/CD, logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting.
Communicate architecture decisions, maintain practical documentation, and collaborate with global technical and business stakeholders.
Required Experience:
8+ years in software engineering and 4+ years designing and implementing AWS solutions.
Hands-on architecture experience taking highly available, scalable applications from design through production.
Deep knowledge of AWS compute, storage, networking, databases, messaging, the Well-Architected Framework, Multi-AZ design, and disaster recovery.
Experience with serverless architecture, microservices, REST/HTTP APIs, and event-driven patterns, including retries, idempotency, and dead-letter handling.
Experience with IAM, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, Cognito or equivalent, KMS, Secrets Manager, and WAF.
Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform, plus CI/CD using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or CodePipeline.
Experience with Docker, ECS or Fargate, CloudWatch, and X-Ray.
Production-quality coding skills in TypeScript/Node.js, Python, or Java.
Nice-to-Have:
Experience with OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Prometheus, or Kibana.
Experience working with international teams across time zones.
Required Equipment:
This role requires a personal laptop and installation of company security and device management software for the duration of the engagement.
