Senior Architect

GrowTal builds artificial intelligence and machine learning products for marketing measurement. Our platform connects a client's marketing and revenue data, measures performance, models what drives outcomes, and reports the results.
The Senior Architect owns the architecture of our measurement and modeling platform and reports to the Chief Technology Officer.
Responsibilities
Own backend and data architecture: service boundaries, data contracts, schema design, and failure behavior.
Design orchestration for the measurement and modeling pipelines, including scheduling, retries, and recovery from partial failure.
Architect the systems that run large language models in production paths, covering structured output, evaluation, cost and latency, and handling of unreliable model output.
Define the shared data model used by the application and the analytics pipelines.
Set engineering standards through design and code review, including review of code produced with artificial intelligence assistance.
Set technical direction with the Chief Technology Officer and provide direction to engineers and contractors.
Requirements
[8]+ years of software engineering experience, including time responsible for architecture.
Experience shipping machine learning or artificial intelligence systems to production.
Demonstrated ability to take ambiguous problems through to a working system, with judgment about scope.
A record of solving complex problems with simple designs.
Systems fundamentals: data modeling, concurrency, long-running work, and failure analysis.
Experience building on large language model interfaces, including evaluation and handling of unreliable output.
Fluency with artificial intelligence assisted development, and full accountability for the correctness of what you ship.
Clear written communication, including written technical decisions.

Durable workflow orchestration in production.
Retrieval systems or vector search.
