Financial Controller

Farheap Solutions, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our global team. This is a fully remote role open to candidates worldwide, with some required overlap with the PST time zone. The role also offers the potential to progress to CFO based on performance and capabilities.

As the Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing our financial operations, ensuring accurate accounting, reporting, effective financial management, and strategic decision-making. Your leadership abilities will be crucial in managing and guiding our finance team towards achieving departmental and organisational goals.
Please note that even though this is #workfromanywhere position and we offer substantial flexibility, some overlap with PST zone business hours is needed.
Key Responsibilities
✔ Financial Leadership: Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management and department heads, translating financial data into actionable insights to support business objectives and growth strategies.
✔ Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and presentation of timely, accurate, and comprehensive financial statements, reports, and analyses. Ensure compliance with US GAAP and, where applicable, IFRS, as well as relevant accounting standards and regulations across all operating jurisdictions.
✔ Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with department heads to develop realistic financial plans aligned with strategic goals. Monitor performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.
✔ Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to optimize financial stability and support operational needs. Implement effective cash flow forecasting and management techniques.
✔ Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks through comprehensive risk assessments, internal controls, and compliance measures. Stay current with regulatory changes that may impact financial operations.
✔ Team Leadership: Lead and develop accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and high performance. Provide coaching, mentorship, and guidance to team members.
✔ Process Enhancement: Continuously assess and improve accounting processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness. Implement best practices and drive process automation where applicable.
✔ Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analyses, including profitability, cost analysis, ROI assessments, and trend analysis. Present findings to senior management and recommend strategic actions.
✔ Tax Compliance & Reporting (US & Europe): Own the preparation, review, and timely filing of US federal, state, and local tax returns (corporate income tax, sales & use tax, franchise tax), in coordination with external tax advisors and auditors. Oversee VAT compliance across European entities, including VAT registration, periodic VAT returns, OSS, reverse-charge mechanisms, and intra-EU/cross-border transaction treatment.
Qualifications and Skills
💡 Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or CPA designation is preferred.
💡 Managerial Experience: A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated leadership experience in finance, including managing and developing a team.
💡 Knowledge of IFRS/US GAAP
💡 Advanced English (C1/C2)
💡 Financial Expertise: Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis. Experience working in fully remote setting is considered a bonus.
💡 Strategic Thinker: Ability to align financial strategies with organizational goals and drive informed decision-making.
💡 Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.

💡 Problem Solver: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex financial challenges.
💡 ERP and Tools: Good experience with accounting software, preferably with Microsoft Business Central; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
💡 Leadership Skills: Proven track record of leading and motivating teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
💡 Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
