Company Description The Leonardo da Vinci Society of San Francisco is a non-profit, non-political, educational and social organization dedicated to promoting Italian contributions in arts, music, science, literature, and culture in the United States. Founded in 1949, the Society has a long history of hosting lectures, concerts, exhibits, and contemporary events that highlight Italian language, cinema, craftsmanship, and innovation. It has welcomed distinguished guests such as writer Dacia Maraini and computer scientist Federico Faggin, engaging new and younger audiences. The Society is listed in the Italian Embassy Registry of Italian American Associations in the US, is represented in COM.IT.ES, and is part of the CIAO Confederation in the Bay Area. Inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s legacy, the organization continues to celebrate Italian culture in the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley and invites all italophiles to participate in its mission.
Role Description The Social Media Coordinator internship is a remote role focused on supporting the Society’s online presence and community engagement. Day-to-day tasks include creating and scheduling social media content across platforms, drafting posts that promote events and initiatives, and assisting with basic digital marketing activities. The coordinator will monitor social channels, respond to comments and messages in a professional manner, and help grow and engage the Society’s audience. Additional responsibilities may include tracking performance metrics, collaborating with team members on campaign ideas, and ensuring brand voice and visual consistency. This internship offers practical experience in cultural communications and non-profit outreach.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Social Media Content Creation and Social Media Marketing, with the ability to tailor content to different platforms and audiences.
Effective Communication and Writing skills, including clear, inclusive, and engaging language suited to diverse communities.
Foundational knowledge of Digital Marketing principles, including audience engagement, basic analytics, and campaign support.
Interest in Italian culture, arts, or heritage, and willingness to learn about the Society’s mission and activities.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage deadlines, and coordinate with a small team.
Familiarity with social media management tools and graphic or video editing applications is a plus.
Current students or recent graduates in Communications, Marketing, Media, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
