Senior BI Architect – Self-Service Analytics, Databricks & AWS

**FULLY REMOTE**
ScolerTec is seeking multiple Senior BI Architects to support a large-scale cloud data modernization and analytics initiative.
This role will define the architecture and technical direction for an enterprise self-service analytics environment built on Databricks and AWS, with a strong focus on evaluating and integrating modern BI platforms for both technical and nontechnical users.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Tableau, Qlik, ThoughtSpot, and/or Amazon QuickSight, along with Databricks, AWS, semantic modeling, governed analytics, security, and enterprise BI architecture.
Key Responsibilities
Define enterprise BI and self-service analytics architecture using Databricks and AWS.
Evaluate and integrate BI platforms including Tableau, Qlik, ThoughtSpot, and Amazon QuickSight.
Design analytics solutions for both technical analysts and nontechnical business users.
Integrate BI tools with Databricks lakehouse, SQL Warehouses, curated/Gold data layers, and AWS data services.
Define semantic models, KPIs, metrics, governed datasets, and reusable business definitions.
Design self-service analytics approaches that reduce dependency on BI developers.
Define security and governance patterns including RBAC, row-level security, lineage, and certified datasets.
Establish BI architecture standards, design patterns, performance standards, and deployment practices.
Partner with Databricks platform, data engineering, governance, AWS, and business teams.
Qualifications
8+ years of enterprise BI / analytics experience.
5+ years in BI architecture, analytics architecture, or senior BI technical leadership.
Strong hands-on experience with at least two of:
Tableau, Qlik, ThoughtSpot, Amazon QuickSight.
Strong hands-on experience with Databricks and lakehouse-based analytics.
Strong experience with AWS and cloud-based analytics/data services.
Experience integrating BI platforms with Databricks and AWS data environments.
Experience designing enterprise self-service analytics solutions for nontechnical users.
Strong semantic modeling, dimensional modeling, SQL, KPI, and data-governance experience.
Experience with security, RBAC, row-level security, lineage, and governed data access.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with three or more of Tableau, Qlik, ThoughtSpot, and QuickSight.
Databricks experience with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, SQL Warehouses, Medallion architecture, and governed Gold-layer datasets.
AWS experience with services such as S3, Redshift, Athena, IAM, Glue, Lake Formation, or related analytics services.
AWS GovCloud experience.
Experience in federal, regulated, or large enterprise environments.
Experience with BI platform administration, performance optimization, governance, and enterprise adoption.
