MAKING THE METALS POWERING THE WORLD
Solcoa is building the next generation of American metalmaking, starting with rare earths — the metals of power and motion. We've developed a new chemistry that converts rare earth oxides into high-purity metals — the materials inside every EV, fighter jet, wind turbine, and data center — cleaner, cheaper, and faster than any conventional process. Now we're scaling it to thousands of tonnes of annual production.
THE ROLE
Keep our lab, facility, and office running so our engineers and researchers can focus on making metal. You’ll own the daily operations that keep materials organized, shipments moving, equipment ready, and the facility safe and functional. We’re looking for someone who notices what needs doing, builds simple systems, and follows through.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Track and organize feedstock, chemicals, fabrication materials, equipment, and consumables. Maintain accurate inventory, clear storage locations, and reorder levels.
- Manage shipping and receiving, including deliveries, pickups, incoming inspections, and shipment records.
- Handle purchasing and vendor coordination: source supplies, compare quotes, track orders, and resolve shortages before they interrupt work.
- Coordinate building maintenance for power, plumbing, HVAC, waste disposal, cleaning, and security.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance, repairs, calibration, and service records with the technical team.
- Support EHS through chemical inventories, safety data sheets, PPE, training coordination, inspections, and follow-up on corrective actions.
- Manage daily office needs, including supplies, visitors, workspace readiness, and new-employee logistics.
- Build practical procedures for storage, labeling, housekeeping, and purchasing—and fix recurring operational problems.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Experience supporting operations in a lab, pilot plant, manufacturing facility, or technical workshop.
- A track record of keeping inventory, purchasing, vendors, and facilities organized.
- Comfort working around chemicals and industrial equipment, with sound safety judgment.
- Strong follow-through, clear communication, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and comfort learning inventory and purchasing tools.
- A hands-on approach—you’re as willing to organize a stockroom or receive a delivery as you are to coordinate a contractor.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience in chemistry, materials, metallurgy, or an industrial startup.
- Experience supporting EHS programs, chemical storage, hazardous waste coordination, or regulated shipping.
- Experience setting up or expanding a lab or facility.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- $110,000–$120,000 annual base salary, depending on experience.
