Role Description The Senior Finance Manager is a full-time, on-site role located in New Brunswick, NJ. This position is responsible for overseeing all core financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting for the company. The Senior Finance Manager will prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, analyze performance trends, and provide recommendations to support strategic and operational decision-making. Day-to-day tasks include managing accounts payable and receivable, supervising bookkeeping and payroll processes, ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, and maintaining internal controls. This role will also partner with leadership to develop financial policies, support pricing and cost analysis, and contribute to long-term financial planning and risk management.
Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in core finance functions, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
Experience overseeing accounting operations, such as general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and payroll.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and present clear recommendations to leadership.
Knowledge of tax regulations, compliance standards, and internal control practices relevant to small and mid-sized service businesses.
Proficiency with financial software and spreadsheets (e.g., Excel, accounting platforms such as QuickBooks or similar systems).
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and provide guidance to non-finance colleagues.
Proven ability to operate independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; professional certifications (such as CPA, CMA, or MBA) are a plus.
Prior experience in a senior finance or accounting leadership role, ideally within a small business, services, or local community-focused environment.
