Cmdb Consultant/ITOM Specialist

We are looking for a hands-on ServiceNow CMDB & ITOM Specialist to oversee, maintain, and optimize our Configuration Management Database (CMDB). In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end data health, configuration of Discovery schedules, Service Mapping, CSDM framework alignment, and executing proactive CMDB cleanup routines. You will bridge the gap between IT Operations (ITOM) and IT Service Management (ITSM) to ensure accurate, actionable Configuration Item (CI) data across our enterprise platform.Key Responsibilities1. CMDB & CSDM GovernanceAlign the organization’s CI class structure and relationships with ServiceNow’s Common Service Data Model (CSDM) framework.Maintain CI lifecycle states, attestation policies, and data integrity across hardware, software, cloud, and application components.Manage Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE) rules to prevent duplicate or orphaned CIs during data imports and automated updates.2. Discovery & Service MappingConfigure, schedule, and maintain ServiceNow Discovery schedules across hybrid environments (On-Premises, AWS, Azure, GCP).Manage MID Servers, IP range configurations, credentials, and credentials-less discovery mechanisms.Build and maintain top-down Service Mapping entry points and patterns to map infrastructure components to business services.Troubleshoot Discovery errors, pattern failures, authentication issues, and SNMP/WMI connection problems.3. CMDB Data Health & CleanupMonitor and act upon CMDB Health Dashboards focusing on Completeness, Correctness, and Compliance metrics. Utilize CMDB Data Manager and Data Foundations dashboards to automate CI archiving, retirement, and deletion workflows. Identify and resolve stale CIs, duplicate records, and broken relationships through structured remediation workflows.4. ITSM Integration & Process SupportEnsure CMDB accuracy directly supports core ITSM processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Catalog Management. Configure service impact maps to give Change Managers clear visibility into potential service disruptions.Work with IT Infrastructure, Security, and Cloud teams to validate asset boundaries and network access permissions.
