Role Description The Scrub Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, responsible for supporting surgeons and the surgical team in the operating room. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and organizing surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment before procedures, and maintaining a sterile field throughout the operation. The Scrub Technician assists with gowning and gloving, passes instruments and materials during surgery, and accounts for all instruments and sponges before, during, and after procedures. The role also involves cleaning and restocking operating rooms, following infection control and safety protocols, and collaborating closely with nurses, anesthesiologists, and other staff to ensure efficient, safe surgical workflows.
Qualifications
Relevant certification or diploma in surgical technology, operation theatre technology, or a related allied health field.
Experience working in an operating room or surgical setting, with familiarity in handling surgical instruments and equipment.
Strong understanding of sterile techniques, infection control practices, and hospital safety protocols.
Ability to follow detailed instructions, maintain focus under pressure, and support complex surgical procedures.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
Good physical stamina, manual dexterity, and the ability to stand for extended periods during procedures.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including early shifts, late shifts, weekends, or on-call as required by surgical scheduling.
Prior experience in a hospital or surgical center in Mumbai or similar environment is an advantage.
