Hiring: Mechanical Designer, transformers — 6-month contract, remote
We are looking for one or two mechanical designers with transformer experience for a six-month contract with a US transformer manufacturer.
The work is drawing production: taking 3D models to release-ready manufacturing drawings, and building models back from existing 2D drawings. Tanks, enclosures, sheet metal and weldments.
What matters most is that you have designed for transformers or similar heavy electromechanical equipment, you are strong in Solid Edge or another parametric CAD package, and your drawings have been built from on a real shop floor.
Remote, with an onboarding visit to Pine Bluff, Arkansas and a trip back roughly every six weeks. Travel covered. Looking to have someone started within the month.
$55–70/hr W-2, C2C is fine — work through your own entity if you prefer.
