Role Description The Safety Head of Department (HOD) at Rain Cements Limited will lead the safety function at the Kurnool plant and ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations. The role involves developing and implementing safety policies and procedures, conducting regular safety audits and risk assessments, and overseeing incident and accident investigations. The Safety HOD will organize and deliver safety training programs for employees, monitor workplace conditions, and coordinate corrective and preventive actions. This position also requires close collaboration with plant leadership and cross-functional teams to promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement in safety performance. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kurnool.
Qualifications
Strong expertise in Health & Safety and Occupational Health, with experience managing safety programs in industrial or manufacturing environments.
Proficiency in Environment Health and Safety (EHS) systems, including regulatory compliance, environmental risk assessment, and documentation.
Demonstrated ability to design and deliver Safety Training, including toolbox talks, induction programs, and refresher sessions for diverse employee groups.
Hands-on experience in Accident Investigation, including root cause analysis, reporting, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related field; advanced safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) are an advantage.
Knowledge of relevant national safety regulations, standards, and best practices applicable to cement or heavy manufacturing industries.
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and drive safety culture across all levels of the organization.
Proven experience leading safety teams or departments, with a track record of improving safety performance indicators.
