Role Overview
Demand & Supply Planning
Drive demand and supply planning across products and locations.
Analyse historical sales, demand trends and business requirements to improve forecasting accuracy.
Monitor demand vs. actual sales and identify gaps in forecasting and supply planning.
Ensure the right product, quantity and inventory is available at the right location and time.
Work with business and operations teams to align supply plans with changing demand.
2. Inventory Management
Own inventory planning, replenishment and availability across locations.
Monitor inventory levels, ageing, slow-moving/non-moving and near-expiry inventory.
Drive reduction in stock-outs, excess inventory, ageing and wastage.
Improve inventory accuracy and stock availability.
Analyse inventory movement and recommend stock transfers/reallocation based on demand.
Ensure appropriate FIFO/FEFO practices wherever applicable.
3. Supply Chain Cost Control & Optimisation
Monitor key supply chain costs and identify areas for optimisation.
Drive initiatives to reduce inventory holding costs, wastage, logistics costs and operational inefficiencies.
Analyse cost drivers and identify opportunities for improved productivity and utilisation.
Work with cross-functional teams to implement cost-saving initiatives.
4. Central Operations & Fulfilment
Monitor end-to-end supply chain and operational performance across locations.
Ensure smooth movement of products from source/warehouse through fulfilment and delivery.
Track key operational metrics including fill rate, fulfilment rate, stock-outs, service levels and delivery TAT.
Identify bottlenecks and drive timely corrective actions.
Coordinate with city and central teams to resolve operational gaps.
5. Logistics & Warehouse Coordination
Work closely with Warehouse and Logistics teams to ensure efficient inventory movement and fulfilment.
Monitor logistics performance and service levels.
Analyse capacity utilisation, route efficiency and logistics costs.
Coordinate with 3PL/logistics partners wherever required to ensure service-level adherence.
6. MIS, Analytics & Business Insights
Develop and maintain supply chain dashboards and MIS.
Track and analyse key metrics such as:
Inventory availability
Fill rate
Stock-outs
Inventory ageing
Wastage
Forecast accuracy
Order fulfilment
Delivery TAT
Logistics cost
Service levels
Identify trends, root causes and business opportunities through data.
Present actionable insights and performance updates to leadership.
Process Improvement & Automation
Identify gaps in existing supply chain processes and drive improvements.
Standardise processes and SOPs across locations.
Lead initiatives focused on improving productivity, efficiency and scalability.
Explore and implement automation, AI-enabled tools and technology solutions wherever relevant.
Continuously identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve decision-making.
7. Cross-functional Stakeholder Management
Work closely with Sales, Operations, Demand Planning, Warehouse, Logistics, Finance, Procurement and other stakeholders.
Act as a central point of coordination for supply-chain-related operational issues.
Drive discussions, align stakeholders and ensure timely closure of critical issues.
Communicate clearly and confidently with internal stakeholders and leadership.
Required Experience & Qualifications
6–10 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain Management, Central Operations, Demand Planning, Inventory Planning or related functions.
MBA/PGDM preferred, ideally from a Tier 2 / Tier 3 B-school.
Experience in FMCG, Food, Frozen Food, D2C, E-commerce, Quick Commerce, Beauty & Personal Care, Retail or similar consumer-facing industries.
Exposure to Quick Commerce / Q-commerce business models or platforms will be preferred.
