Role Description The Editor in Chief is a full-time, on-site role based in Ranchi, responsible for overseeing all editorial content and ensuring consistent quality, voice, and alignment with overall strategic goals. Day-to-day tasks include planning editorial calendars, assigning and reviewing stories, managing deadlines, and guiding the full lifecycle of content from concept to publication. The role involves editing and refining manuscripts or articles, providing constructive feedback to writers, and making final decisions on what is published. The Editor in Chief will coordinate with designers and other creative collaborators to ensure cohesive presentation across formats and platforms. This position also requires monitoring audience response and performance metrics to refine editorial strategy and maintain a strong, engaged readership or client base.
Qualifications
Strong editorial judgment, with experience leading content from idea generation through editing and final approval.
Advanced writing and editing abilities, including meticulous attention to grammar, structure, and tone.
Proven capability in developing editorial strategies, managing calendars, and prioritizing projects under deadlines.
Effective leadership and collaboration skills, with experience guiding writers and working with cross-functional creative teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback.
Comfort with digital tools for document management, content publishing, and basic analytics to assess performance.
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Media Studies, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Demonstrated ability to work on-site and manage multiple projects independently in a fast-paced environment.
