Maths Tutor - 4th grade (US curriculum)

Role Description
This is a part-time remote role for a Maths Tutor specializing in 4th grade content aligned with the US curriculum.
The tutor will conduct live online sessions, explain mathematical concepts in a clear and engaging manner, and adapt instruction to different learning styles and pace.
Day-to-day responsibilities include planning lessons, preparing practice problems and activities, checking understanding during and after sessions, and providing constructive feedback on student work.
The tutor will track student progress in the MentorShield platform, maintain accurate records, and communicate with parents, guardians, or coordinators as needed.
The tutor may also make use of MentorShield’s tools and resources to supplement instruction while maintaining a human-centered teaching approach.
Qualifications
Strong foundational knowledge of Mathematics suitable for 4th grade (US curriculum), including number operations, fractions, basic geometry, and problem-solving.
Experience with Tutoring and Online Tutoring, with the ability to manage engaging, structured virtual sessions for young learners.
Excellent Communication skills for explaining concepts clearly, asking effective questions, and collaborating with families or school coordinators.
Comfort teaching introductory Algebra concepts appropriate for upper elementary learners, such as simple equations and patterns.
Prior experience working with elementary school students in an educational setting (school, tutoring center, or online platform) is preferred.
Ability to use digital tools and learning platforms, including video conferencing and online resources, with reliability and professionalism.
Patient, empathetic, and organized approach to supporting diverse learners, including those who may need extra practice or confidence-building.
Relevant educational background in Mathematics, Education, or a related field; teaching certification or tutoring experience in US curriculum is an advantage.
