Lead AI Engineer

BukuWarung is looking for a hands-on Lead Engineer - AI to build AI-powered solutions that directly accelerate business operations.
Responsibilities:
Drive the AI Business Acceleration roadmap across business functions.
Build and productionize AI agents, copilots, RAG systems, automation and decision-support tools.
Identify high-impact AI use cases across Sales, Merchant Operations, Credit/Risk, Support, Finance and Operations.
Build scalable AI engineering foundations including integrations, guardrails, evaluation, observability and human-in-the-loop systems.
Take AI solutions from prototype to production adoption.
Work closely with business, product, data and engineering teams while remaining highly hands-on.
Requirements:
8+ years of software engineering experience across Backend / Platform / Data / AI.
Strong experience building production systems, not just AI prototypes.
Hands-on expertise with LLMs, RAG, AI agents, tool orchestration, evaluation and guardrails.
Strong systems design, APIs, data, security, reliability and scalability fundamentals.
Ability to translate business problems into impactful AI solutions.
Experience in Fintech, Payments, Commerce, Lending or high-volume operations is a plus.
