Laravel Backend Developer

Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Laravel Backend Developer. The Laravel Backend Developer will design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs that power the BRG Cloud POS platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing new features, optimizing existing functionality, integrating third-party services, and ensuring system reliability, scalability, and security. The role involves collaborating with frontend developers, product managers, and QA to deliver high-quality releases, troubleshooting production issues, and writing clean, testable, and well-documented code. The developer will also participate in code reviews, contribute to architectural decisions, and help improve development processes and performance across the platform.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in PHP and Laravel, with experience building RESTful APIs and backend services.
Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and query optimization.
Experience with version control systems such as Git and collaborative development workflows.
Knowledge of API authentication and security best practices (e.g., OAuth, JWT, data encryption).
Familiarity with cloud-based environments, containerization, or deployment pipelines (e.g., Docker, CI/CD).
Ability to write unit and integration tests and work with testing frameworks to ensure code quality.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with POS, ERP, or business management platforms, and knowledge of multi-tenant SaaS architectures, is a plus.
