Role Description The Editor role at WINDY DEER FILMS is an on-site position based in Mumbai. The Editor will assemble raw footage, select takes, and build coherent, engaging narratives for films, trailers, promos, and digital content. Day-to-day tasks include organizing and managing media, synchronizing audio and video, applying basic color adjustments, adding transitions and graphics, and ensuring continuity and pacing. The Editor will collaborate closely with directors, producers, and other post-production professionals to implement creative feedback, refine cuts, and prepare final deliverables in required formats. The role also involves maintaining project files, backing up assets, and adhering to deadlines and production workflows.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency with industry-standard editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve) and familiarity with post-production workflows.
Demonstrated ability to craft clear and compelling visual narratives, with a solid sense of pacing, rhythm, and continuity.
Basic skills in audio editing and mixing, including dialogue cleanup, levels balancing, and integration of music and sound effects.
Understanding of color correction and grading fundamentals, along with attention to visual consistency and style.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to interpret creative direction and respond constructively to feedback.
Strong organizational skills, including media management, version control, and adherence to timelines under production schedules.
Prior experience in film, television, or digital content editing is preferred; a portfolio or showreel demonstrating relevant work is highly beneficial.
Relevant education in film, media, communication, or a related field is an advantage, though equivalent practical experience is also valued.
