Treasure of Veda is a fast-growing D2C brand offering certified, energised gemstones, rudraksh, crystal bracelets, malas and personalised spiritual consultations, with customers across India and worldwide. We focus on authenticity, sacred sourcing and premium quality over volume, and we are scaling our operations to match a fast-growing customer base.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are hiring a Head of Operations to be the number two to our founders. Sales and marketing stay with the founders and their teams. Everything that happens after a customer says yes is yours: the right certified product sourced, checked, packed and delivered on time, and every consultation and customer interaction delivered well.
You will run the back end like a business, not a to-do list. You own the numbers, build the processes, lead the team, and free the founders to focus on growth.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
Sourcing and vendors: onboard and manage suppliers of rudraksh, gemstones (yellow sapphire, blue sapphire, emerald, ruby, coral and more) and diamonds across India's sourcing hubs; negotiate price, payment terms and timelines
Inventory planning: plan stock against sales trends, festival and zodiac-driven demand spikes and new launches; prevent both stockouts and dead stock
Quality and certification: make sure every piece is lab-tested and certified before it is listed or dispatched
Fulfilment and logistics: order-to-delivery end to end, courier partners, dispatch SLAs, packaging, RTO and returns
Consultation operations: astrologer scheduling and availability, smooth delivery of every consultation, and accurate hand-off of product recommendations to fulfilment
Customer experience: support, escalations, post-sale service and reviews
Team and processes: lead the ops, dispatch and support staff; write SOPs; set and track KPIs
Reporting: a weekly operations dashboard to the founders covering fulfilment TAT, RTO rate, stock health, cost per order and CX metrics
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
5+ years in operations at a D2C or e-commerce brand, including at least 2 years leading a team
Hands-on ownership of inventory and fulfilment for physical products, ideally jewellery, gemstones, wellness or other high-value items
You have built SOPs and dashboards from scratch, not just followed them
Comfortable with data: inventory sheets, courier MIS, CRM and order reports
Able to manage vendors, courier partners and an internal team at the same time, and escalate clearly to the founders
Based in or willing to relocate to Kolkata
GOOD TO HAVE
An existing vendor network for rudraksh and gemstones
Experience with gem labs and certification bodies
Experience in a consultation-led or service-plus-product business
Prior experience in a scaling D2C startup
WHAT WE OFFER
