Position Overview
RMD is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) for a fully remote W-2 PRN/Flex position. The position is designed for a dosimetrist capable of independently managing assigned treatment plans while adapting to physician preferences and site-specific workflows.
The expected workload is approximately 4–5 patients per week minimum, with the ability to flex upward during periods of increased workload, PTO, or other coverage needs.
Primary Responsibilities
Design high-quality treatment plans utilizing 3DCRT, VMAT/IMRT, SBRT, and SRS techniques.
Perform treatment planning 100% remotely.
Develop treatment plans according to the Radiation Oncologist's prescription and site-specific clinical standards.
Adapt planning techniques to individual Radiation Oncologist preferences.
Perform accurate image registration utilizing CT, PET, and MRI, including rigid and deformable registrations.
Accurately delineate organs at risk (OARs) across treatment sites.
Follow clinic-specific standardized nomenclature, planning processes, and workflows.
Complete required treatment-planning documentation and billing procedures accurately.
Communicate effectively with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, and radiation therapists.
Participate in a 30-minute weekly physics meeting.
Participate in chart rounds on a rotating basis, including operating the treatment-planning system and presenting plans when required.

Simulation Volume: Approximately 8–12 simulations per week
Physicians: 1 Radiation Oncologist; plans to add a second physician in early 2027
Communication: Microsoft Teams
Time Zone: Pacific Time
Physics Meeting: 30-minute weekly physics meeting
Chart Rounds: Rotating schedule; approximately 17 times per year
ARIA: Version 16.1
Eclipse: Version 15.6; planned upgrade to Version 18
Image Fusion: Rigid and deformable registration performed in Eclipse
Secondary MU Check: Currently IMSURE; planned transition to ClearCalc
Radformation: ClearCheck, AutoContour, EZFluence, and ClearCalc
Required Experience & Qualifications
Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) through the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) – Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited medical dosimetry program – Preferred
Minimum 2 years of medical dosimetry experience – Required
Experience with 3DCRT, IMRT/VMAT, SBRT, and SRS treatment planning
Ability to work independently within a remote clinical environment
Varian Eclipse TPS, ARIA, MIM, and Radformation – Required
Employment & Compensation
This is a W-2 PRN/Flex position with compensation based on a per-unit-of-service/per-treatment-plan payment structure.
The position is expected to provide a minimum workload of approximately 4–5 patients per week, with flexibility to accept additional cases during periods of increased clinical volume, staff PTO, or other coverage needs.
Estimated annual compensation: $80,000–$95,000+, depending on workload and case mix.
Professional liability coverage associated with work performed for RMD is provided by RMD.
This position is particularly suited for an experienced dosimetrist looking for a flexible, fully remote role while maintaining consistent involvement with a dedicated clinical site.
