We're building a creator commerce and payments platform for African content creators. Creators will be able to sell digital products, run memberships and paid communities, and get paid out through payment rails built for the region.
We're looking for a technical co-founder to help build this from the ground up.

Role Description The Technical Co Founder will play a key role in defining and implementing Forgemint’s technical strategy in close collaboration with the founding team. Specifically recent graduates in software development, computer science, or a related field, with real project experience beyond coursework. Comfortable using AI assisted coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, v0, etc.) as well to build fast without cutting corners on quality. Someone who wants to build something real. Qualifications
Payment systems, with a focus on escrow and how funds move safely between buyer and seller before a transaction is confirmed, plus integrating local payment gateways and KYC/FICA checks
Creator storefronts and digital product delivery, including file storage and secure delivery of purchased content
Membership and subscription billing, with recurring payment logic and plan management
Paid community and chat gating, so only paying members get access
A JavaScript/TypeScript stack, using Supabase (Postgres, auth, storage, edge functions) as the backend, with a modern frontend framework (React/Next.js)
Auth, role based permissions, and admin tooling for creators to manage their store, content, and payouts
API integrations with payment providers, webhooks for payment events, and building this to scale across multiple African markets
Experience in software architecture and full-stack development, including designing scalable systems and selecting appropriate technologies.
Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices, such as deploying applications to AWS, Azure, or GCP, using CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring performance.
Background in product development and technical strategy, including collaborating on roadmaps, translating business goals into technical requirements, and iterating based on user feedback.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote, part-time, startup environment.
Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with non-technical founders, partners, and potential investors.
Prior experience as a founder, early employee, or technical lead in a startup or innovation-focused team is highly beneficial.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
