ForgeMint is building a platform that helps creators turn their audiences into businesses.
The platform enables creators to build and sell digital products, courses, communities, memberships, services and other monetisation opportunities from one place.
We already have 50+ creators on our waiting list and are currently preparing for our initial launch.
We're now looking for a Technical Co-Founder to join the founding team and take ownership of the technical side of ForgeMint.
The Opportunity
This is not a traditional developer position.
We're looking for someone who can think about the entire technical system, make architecture decisions, build the core product and help shape how the platform develops as we grow.
A particularly important part of the role will be designing the financial and transaction architecture behind ForgeMint.
This includes thinking through how money moves between creators, customers and ForgeMint, while building systems that are reliable, scalable and easy to operate.
What You'll Own
Own ForgeMint's overall technical architecture
Build and maintain the core platform
Develop new product functionality alongside the founding team
Make technical decisions around architecture, infrastructure and scalability
Build APIs, backend services and database systems
Develop creator and customer-facing functionality
Integrate third-party services and APIs
Ensure the platform is secure, reliable and maintainable
Financial & Payments Infrastructure
Design creator payment and payout flows
Build transaction and commission logic
Integrate payment providers
Handle payment webhooks and transaction states
Design systems for creator revenue shares and ForgeMint fees
Think through refunds, failed payments, disputes and reconciliation
Build infrastructure that can support multiple currencies and markets
Ensure financial data is accurate and auditable
This part of the role is particularly important.
We're not just looking for someone who can connect a payment API. We need someone who can think through how the financial system of the platform should actually work.
What We're Looking For
Strong experience in full-stack development, with experience in several of the following:
JavaScript / TypeScript
React / Next.js
Node.js
PostgreSQL / Supabase
REST APIs
Webhooks
Authentication and user management
Cloud infrastructure
Payment integrations
Database architecture
Third-party API integrations
Experience with Paystack, Stripe, Flutterwave or similar payment infrastructure is a strong advantage.
Experience building SaaS platforms, marketplaces, fintech products or other transaction-heavy products is also valuable.
Financial Systems
We're particularly interested in someone who understands concepts such as:
Payment processing
Payouts
Revenue splits
Platform fees
Subscriptions
Recurring payments
Refunds
Chargebacks/disputes
Transaction reconciliation
Multi-currency transactions
You don't need experience with every item above, but you should be comfortable thinking about financial systems from an architectural perspective.
Founder Mindset
Technical ability is only part of what we're looking for.
You should be someone who:
Wants genuine ownership
Can work independently
Can make decisions without needing everything specified
Thinks about the product, not just the code
Is comfortable working in ambiguity
Moves quickly and prioritises effectively
Can communicate technical concepts clearly
Is willing to challenge ideas when you see a better solution
Is excited about building something from an early stage
Can work closely with the other founders
Most importantly, you should enjoy building.
Experience Level
We're open to different backgrounds.
You could be:
An experienced full-stack engineer
A technical lead looking to move into founding
A startup engineer who wants more ownership
A developer who has independently built and launched products
An existing technical founder looking for a new opportunity
Formal qualifications are less important than what you've actually built.
A strong portfolio, shipped product, GitHub projects or previous startup experience will carry significant weight.
Commitment
This is an equity-based co-founder position.
The role will initially be part-time, allowing the right person to continue with existing work, studies or other commitments while we build toward launch and validate the business.
As ForgeMint grows, the technical requirements and opportunity will grow with it.
The intention is for the role to increase in commitment and potentially transition into a full-time position as the company reaches the appropriate stage.
We're looking for someone who is open to that progression rather than someone looking for a permanently part-time side project.
