Job Brief:- AU Small Finance Bank Limited is seeking an experienced professional to lead the valuation and appraisal of gold assets within our Operations and Services department. This role demands a high level of expertise in gold appraisal to support the bank's gold loan portfolio, ensuring accurate and timely assessment of gold collateral. The candidate will play a critical role in risk mitigation, compliance adherence, and operational efficiency, contributing to the bank's commitment to secure and customer-centric financial services. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of gold valuation standards, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to uphold the bank's reputation and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:-
Conduct precise and comprehensive appraisal of gold items submitted as collateral for gold loans, ensuring adherence to industry standards and bank policies.
Evaluate the purity, weight, and market value of gold assets using advanced testing methods and tools to determine accurate loan eligibility.
Collaborate with the credit and risk management teams to provide timely and reliable valuation reports that support loan sanctioning decisions.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of gold market trends, pricing fluctuations, and regulatory changes impacting gold loan operations.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines and internal audit requirements related to gold appraisal and loan processing.
Train and mentor junior appraisers and operations staff on gold valuation techniques, quality control, and operational best practices.
Implement and continuously improve appraisal processes to enhance accuracy, reduce turnaround time, and minimize operational risks.
Coordinate with branch and regional teams to resolve discrepancies in gold valuation and support customer queries related to gold loans.
Prepare detailed documentation and maintain records of all appraisals for audit and regulatory review purposes.
Participate in periodic internal and external audits to validate appraisal procedures and ensure adherence to compliance standards.
