Job Brief:- AU Small Finance Bank Limited is seeking an experienced professional to lead the valuation and appraisal of gold assets within our Operations and Services department. This role demands a high level of expertise in gold quality assessment, market valuation, and risk mitigation to support our gold loan portfolio. The incumbent will ensure accurate and timely appraisal of gold collateral, adhering to regulatory standards and internal policies, thereby enabling informed lending decisions and safeguarding the bank's interests. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills, leadership capabilities, and a thorough understanding of the financial services industry, particularly in secured lending against gold assets.
Responsibilities:-
Conduct precise and comprehensive appraisal of gold jewelry and bullion to determine market value for loan sanctioning purposes.
Lead and mentor a team of junior appraisers, ensuring adherence to standardized appraisal procedures and quality benchmarks.
Stay updated with current gold market trends, price fluctuations, and regulatory changes impacting gold loan valuations.
Collaborate with credit and risk management teams to assess collateral quality and mitigate potential loan risks.
Maintain detailed records of appraisals, including photographs, weight, purity, and valuation reports, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
Implement and monitor internal controls to prevent fraud and discrepancies in gold asset evaluation.
Coordinate with branch operations to streamline appraisal processes and improve turnaround times for gold loan disbursals.
Provide expert guidance during internal and external audits related to gold asset valuation and loan documentation.
Develop and update appraisal guidelines and training materials to enhance team competency and operational efficiency.
Ensure compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory frameworks governing gold loan operations.
