Role Description The BIM Coordinator MEP is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru, responsible for managing Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across projects. This role involves developing, updating, and maintaining coordinated MEP BIM models, ensuring alignment with architectural and structural designs and compliance with project standards. The individual will review clash detection reports, resolve coordination issues with project stakeholders, and support the preparation of construction drawings and documentation. Day-to-day responsibilities include liaising with architects, engineers, and contractors, enforcing BIM standards and workflows, and supporting team members in using BIM tools effectively. The BIM Coordinator MEP will also contribute to continuous improvement of BIM templates, libraries, and quality control procedures.
Qualifications
Proficiency in BIM authoring and coordination tools for MEP (e.g., Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360 or similar platforms).
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including design principles, codes, and construction practices.
Experience in model coordination, clash detection, and producing coordinated MEP drawings and schedules.
Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings and integrate them into comprehensive, multidisciplinary BIM models.
Solid understanding of BIM execution plans, standards, naming conventions, and documentation workflows.
Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional project teams and external stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and project priorities.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; relevant BIM certifications are an advantage.
Prior experience in an architecture, engineering, or construction environment, preferably in MEP coordination roles.
