About The Role
Givebutter is seeking a talented and passionate Product Data Scientist to join our expanding Data team. In this role, you will serve as a strategic partner and collaborator, working closely with engineers, analysts, and product stakeholders to understand the most impactful business needs and develop scalable solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in turning product event data—such as clickstream, funnel events, user sessions, and feature interactions—into actionable behavioral insights that inform product development and decision-making.
This position requires experience in designing, executing, and communicating A/B experiments, defining and governing product metrics, and utilizing AI tools to enhance analytical work. The Product Data Scientist will play a key role in developing a deep understanding of user behavior, driving product and revenue analytics, and contributing to the evolution of the company's analytics framework. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a mission-driven environment where data insights directly influence product growth and user engagement strategies.
Qualifications
4+ years of experience in Product Analytics, experimentation, and working with product event or clickstream data
Advanced degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
Expertise in SQL and Python (or other relevant coding languages) for data querying and manipulation
Proven ability to proactively drive initiatives with minimal oversight
Experience designing, running, and interpreting A/B experiments in a practical context
Strong understanding of product metrics such as activation rates, retention, engagement signals, and conversion funnels
Interest or experience in implementing agentic AI within a data analytics framework (preferred but not mandatory)
Responsibilities
Gain a comprehensive understanding of the product team's business needs and data sources, collaborating with stakeholders to identify priorities
Define, develop, and document data models that support product analytics, ensuring quality, usability, and clarity in a fast-paced environment
Manage data requests from product and revenue teams, ensuring clear communication and timely, high-quality delivery
Drive the strategic product analytics roadmap, identifying key analyses and capabilities aligned with business growth
Analyze user behavior through behavioral analyses, funnel work, and product event data to inform activation, engagement, and retention strategies
Design, execute, and communicate A/B experiments, applying statistical rigor to help stakeholders make confident decisions
Own the definition, logic, and documentation of core product metrics, ensuring consistency and trust across teams
Collaborate on enhancing the company's agentic analytics framework, including building evaluation suites and translating business needs into AI outputs
