About The Role
AppliedVR is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Prescription Data Entry Associate to join our team on a part-time basis. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the administrative and operational aspects of our innovative healthcare solutions. The role involves accurately transcribing, processing, and updating patient and prescription information within our pharmacy management system, ensuring compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations. Reporting directly to the Commercial Operations and Market Access Manager, the ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of our patient records, supporting the seamless delivery of our therapeutic devices. The position requires a high level of precision, organizational skills, and a commitment to patient confidentiality, making it vital to uphold HIPAA standards and company policies. This role provides a flexible schedule within a dynamic environment, perfect for individuals who thrive in remote work settings and are passionate about advancing healthcare technology.
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Minimum 1+ years of experience in a retail, mail-order, hospital pharmacy setting, or comparable medical data entry role (preferred)
Typing proficiency of at least 45–50 WPM with high accuracy
Strong understanding of basic medical terminology, patient records, prescriptions, and insurance concepts
Experience navigating electronic health record (EHR) systems or proprietary pharmacy software (e.g., QS/1, EnterpriseRx, PioneerRx); familiarity with Niko Health is a plus
Exceptional attention to detail to prevent data mismatches and ensure patient safety
Nice-to-have certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) via PTCB or ExCPT, or Certified Durable Medical Equipment Specialist (CDME) via BOC
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment
Responsibilities
Accurately process inbound prescription referrals received via fax and input all required information into the company's digital pharmacy system
Review prescriptions and supporting documentation, including clinical notes, patient demographics, provider details, and insurance information
Transcribe patient, prescription, provider, and insurance data from source documents into digital records with high accuracy
Verify completeness, legibility, and consistency of documentation before finalizing data entry
Identify and flag missing, incomplete, or unclear information for follow-up by the appropriate internal team
Upload and attach prescriptions, clinical notes, demographic, and insurance documentation to patient records
Perform regular quality checks to ensure data accuracy, correct errors, and maintain well-organized patient records
Process referrals efficiently while maintaining strict confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA and company policies
