About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer II to join our Hybrid team based in Broomfield, CO. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in managing and optimizing our cloud infrastructure, primarily focusing on AWS development, automation, and orchestration. You will provide expert guidance on configuration management activities across the R&D organization, ensuring our source control, CI/CD pipelines, and platform services operate seamlessly. Your responsibilities will include leading initiatives in platform automation, observability, and reliability, collaborating with product development teams within Agile frameworks to deliver robust SaaS solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud platform engineering, DevOps practices, scripting, and infrastructure as code, contributing to a fast-paced environment dedicated to improving patient care through technological excellence.
Qualifications
BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum of 4+ years of experience in cloud development and platform engineering, specifically in AWS or similar public cloud environments
Proven expertise in DevOps practices, including CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure as code
Extensive experience with server administration (Linux and Windows)
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Powershell, Python, JSON
Hands-on experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt, or AWX
Strong knowledge of logging and observability solutions including Splunk, Coralogix, OTEL, Graylog, ELK Stack, or Cloudwatch
At least 3+ years of experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
Excellent understanding of Agile methodologies and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles
Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Developer, AWS SysOps, or AWS DevOps are highly desirable
Responsibilities
Manage and automate SaaS platform operations, ensuring high availability and reliability across all cloud services
Provide guidance and support to product development teams on cloud architecture, best practices, and platform improvements
Lead the development, maintenance, and automation of AWS infrastructure, including application pools, virtual networks, and security protocols
Implement and enforce standards for source control, branching strategies, and continuous integration/deployment pipelines
Enhance platform observability by defining and maintaining monitoring solutions using OTEL and other tooling
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize local development environments and streamline production builds
Define and promote SRE and DevOps best practices across the organization
Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and tier-4 production support on a rotational basis
Utilize Jira for Agile story management, tracking, and issue escalation
Contribute to defining technical objectives, project planning, and delivering solutions on schedule in accordance with quality standards
