About The Role
As a Lead DevOps Engineer at Particle41, you will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and maintaining the cloud infrastructure that powers our clients' most complex digital projects. You will own the DevOps strategy, setting standards and best practices that influence multiple teams and projects. Your role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including architects, developers, and security specialists, to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure cloud solutions across AWS, Azure, and GCP platforms. You will champion automation and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices, ensuring rapid and safe release cycles. Additionally, you will mentor and coach team members, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping the DevOps practice, driving operational excellence, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions that align with client and business goals.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred)
8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, platform, or infrastructure engineering
2+ years of experience leading DevOps teams or owning DevOps functions for multiple products or clients
Extensive hands-on expertise with at least two major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and working knowledge of the third
Deep experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi
Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or Go
Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM, networking, and compliance environments
Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible
Excellent leadership and mentorship skills
Strong communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
Experience with agile development methodologies and client-facing advisory roles
Relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer Professional, Azure Administrator, or GCP Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer (preferred)
Responsibilities
Own and define the DevOps technical roadmap, aligning it with overarching business and client goals
Establish reference architectures, reusable IaC modules, pipeline templates, and standards adopted across teams
Ensure platform reliability, security posture, and delivery velocity, measured through SLOs and KPIs
Represent the DevOps practice in client discovery, pre-sales discussions, and infrastructure scoping activities
Contribute to the growth of the DevOps practice by interviewing and assessing candidates and shaping team capabilities
Design and implement cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP using infrastructure-as-code tools
Architect and manage container platforms such as Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, GKE) to support scalable workloads
Define landing zones, account structures, and network topologies to optimize security, cost, and agility
Evaluate and recommend platform tooling and managed services aligned with business needs
Own the CI/CD strategy, designing pipelines that enable fast, reliable, and repeatable releases
Promote an automation-first culture, reducing manual processes and enhancing operational efficiency
Implement GitOps workflows for declarative and auditable deployments
Define and oversee observability strategies, including monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions
Manage SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and incident response processes to improve system resilience
Plan for capacity, scalability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies across multiple regions
Embed security standards into the delivery pipeline, including secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and policy enforcement
Support compliance initiatives with automated controls and evidence collection
Drive cloud cost optimization through right-sizing, autoscaling, and FinOps practices
Mentor and coach engineering teams on DevOps best practices, fostering a culture of continuous learning
Lead technical discussions, resolve complex challenges, and promote continuous improvement initiatives
Track and analyze DORA metrics to guide process enhancements and operational excellence
Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in DevOps and cloud operations
