About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Brand Manager for Live Content and Seasonal Marketing to lead the development and execution of marketing initiatives for MLB The Show. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between major launch campaigns and ongoing player engagement throughout the baseball season. The ideal candidate will oversee the planning and implementation of live content strategies, community engagement, and lifecycle marketing efforts to sustain excitement and participation. This position requires a blend of strategic thinking, deep understanding of baseball culture, and experience in live-service gaming environments. The Brand Manager will collaborate closely with development, product, content, and marketing teams to ensure a cohesive approach that connects in-game content with real-world baseball events, fan moments, and marketing activations. The role offers flexibility in location, with preferences for candidates based in San Diego or the Bay Area, but open to remote applicants within the United States, with travel expenses covered for remote candidates outside these regions.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in gaming, sports marketing, brand marketing, product marketing, or lifecycle marketing.
Demonstrated knowledge of MLB The Show, including game modes, content structure, and player community.
Strong passion for baseball and familiarity with Major League Baseball players, teams, storylines, and season structure.
Experience supporting live-service video games and ongoing content programs.
Proficiency in customer engagement initiatives and lifecycle marketing strategies.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Responsibilities
Own and manage the integrated live content marketing calendar for MLB The Show, ensuring alignment with seasonal content, roster updates, and major baseball events.
Develop and execute marketing strategies supporting live content, special events, and in-game content programs.
Collaborate with development, product, and content teams to align marketing opportunities with the live content roadmap, maintaining a consistent content cadence to drive ongoing engagement.
Design and implement player engagement strategies across the customer lifecycle, including onboarding, retention, reactivation, and long-term engagement initiatives.
Partner with CRM, social media, community, and owned-channel teams to execute engagement campaigns and initiatives.
Lead paid media strategies for live service initiatives, including targeting, messaging, budget allocation, and channel mix, optimizing for performance metrics such as ROAS, CPA, and conversion rates.
Monitor MLB storylines, player performances, and major league events to identify opportunities for connecting real-world baseball moments with in-game content and marketing campaigns.
Manage marketing activations for key tentpole events such as the All-Star Game, Postseason, and other major cultural moments.
Develop launch-to-live strategies, including first 30/60/90-day engagement plans to sustain momentum post-launch.
Partner with analytics teams to evaluate campaign performance, player behavior, and engagement data to inform future strategies.
Lead post-mortem analyses and learning reviews to continuously improve marketing effectiveness and player experience.
