Role Description The Senior Financial Director is a full-time, remote role responsible for providing strategic financial leadership across CaterPillar’s recycling and circular marketplace operations. This position oversees financial planning and budgeting, guides long-term investment and capital allocation decisions, and ensures accurate and timely financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders. The role includes managing the preparation and analysis of financial statements, monitoring key performance indicators, and developing dashboards and forecasts that inform executive decision-making. The Senior Financial Director will collaborate with leadership, product, operations, and partner teams to evaluate business models, assess risks, and optimize profitability while maintaining strong governance and compliance. Day-to-day responsibilities also involve leading the finance team, improving financial processes and systems, and supporting fundraising, pricing, and strategic partnership initiatives.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Finance, including experience in corporate finance, budgeting, and capital planning.
Proficiency in Financial Planning and Financial Reporting, with a history of building and managing forecasts, budgets, and management reports.
Experience working with Financial Statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, and ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Advanced Analytical Skills, including financial modeling, scenario analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
Proven leadership experience managing finance teams and collaborating with senior stakeholders in a growth-oriented environment.
Knowledge of accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory compliance relevant to technology or marketplace businesses.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial audiences.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; an advanced degree (MBA, Master’s in Finance) or professional certification (CPA, CFA) is preferred.
Experience in technology platforms, marketplaces, sustainability, or circular economy sectors is an advantage.
