Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Cook role based at Pratap Bhawan Home Stay in Jaipur. The Cook will be responsible for preparing daily meals for guests, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, with attention to taste, presentation, and hygiene. Typical tasks include planning menus, sourcing and organizing ingredients, following recipes or creating new dishes, and ensuring all food is cooked and stored safely. The Cook will maintain a clean and orderly kitchen, manage basic inventory, coordinate meal timings with the front-of-house team, and adapt dishes to guest dietary preferences when required. The role involves working closely with other staff members to deliver a consistent, positive guest experience.
Qualifications
Strong skills in cooking, food preparation, and presentation, preferably with experience in homestyle and regional Indian cuisine.
Knowledge of kitchen hygiene, food safety standards, and proper storage practices.
Ability to plan simple menus, manage ingredients, and handle basic inventory and portion control.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with other staff members and interact politely with guests when needed.
Previous experience as a Cook or Kitchen Assistant in a hotel, guest house, or restaurant is preferred.
Ability to work full time on-site in Jaipur, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Basic literacy and numeracy skills; formal culinary training or certification is an added advantage but not mandatory.
