Role Description The Pricing Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for developing and managing competitive pricing strategies for cargo and logistics services. On a day-to-day basis, this role involves analyzing market rates, carrier costs, and customer requirements to prepare accurate quotations and rate sheets. The Pricing Manager collaborates closely with sales, operations, and finance teams to support business growth, ensure margin targets, and respond promptly to pricing inquiries. Responsibilities include monitoring industry trends, negotiating rates with vendors and partners, maintaining pricing databases, and recommending adjustments to improve profitability. The role also requires preparing regular pricing reports, supporting bid and tender submissions, and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
Qualifications
Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret cost structures, market rates, and profitability metrics.
Experience in pricing, revenue management, or commercial roles within logistics, freight forwarding, or related industries.
Proficiency with spreadsheets and pricing tools, including advanced use of Excel or similar software for data analysis.
Ability to collaborate with sales, operations, and finance teams, and to communicate pricing decisions clearly and professionally.
Attention to detail, accuracy in preparing quotations and contracts, and strong organizational skills for managing multiple requests.
Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, logistics, economics, or a related field; relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
Knowledge of cargo operations, shipping documentation, and industry regulations is preferred.
Ability to work on-site in Chennai and adapt to a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
