Automation Engineer

Role Description This full-time, on-site Automation Engineer role is based in Vadodara and focuses on supporting and improving automation systems within GEA’s industrial processes. The Automation Engineer will design, configure, and implement control systems for machinery and production lines, ensuring reliable and efficient operation. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing and troubleshooting automation and electrical issues, optimizing process control strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as mechanical engineering, production, and maintenance. The role involves working with PLCs, SCADA systems, and robotics where applicable, as well as documenting technical changes, adhering to safety standards, and supporting commissioning and upgrades of equipment at the site.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Automation and Process Control to design, configure, and optimize industrial control systems.
Candidates should possess solid Electrical Engineering skills to interpret electrical drawings and support installation, commissioning, and maintenance of equipment.
Candidates should possess hands-on Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues in control systems, instrumentation, and electrical components.
Candidates should possess relevant Robotics experience where applicable to integrate and program robotic solutions within automated production lines.
Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, or a related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
Candidates should possess familiarity with PLC and SCADA platforms, industrial communication protocols, and basic safety and compliance standards.
Candidates should possess strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
Candidates should possess prior experience in food processing or process industries, or a strong interest in learning these environments; exposure to continuous improvement methodologies is beneficial.
